The Software for
Distributed Robotics project involves using 100+ robots and a small number of
human operators for indoor reconnaissance in military operations in urban areas.
We are collaborating with several other groups, including SAIC, and will
demonstrate a working system late in 2003.
The demonstration will involve locating an object of value within a large
building where there may be opposing forces. The robot team must locate and
protect the object, detecting and tracking intruders. |
